Altar'd State Expands Leadership Team With Key Executive Hires
KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Dec. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Altar'd State, a rapidly growing women's fashion brand with more than 70 boutiques throughout the Midwest, South, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions, announced today the appointment of two key senior leadership positions.
John Buell, SVP, Chief Financial Officer
John Buell joins Altar'd State with over thirty years of experience and is a highly regarded, operations-oriented financial executive. Most recently, John served as Interim CEO at Limited Stores, a $500 million specialty women's retailer. During his thirteen-year tenure, John served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer and Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Limited Stores, John spent fifteen years at Sears, Roebuck, and Co. where he served in roles with increasing responsibility within Finance and Corporate Planning teams. He started his career as a Financial Analyst at Unisys and earned his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Tulane University.
In his new role with Altar'd State, John will support the Company in developing and implementing financial strategies with a focus on maximizing profitability and performance, enhancing capabilities, and achieving the Company's short-term goals and long-term vision.
Kelly Walker, VP, Merchandise Planning
Kelly Walker joins Altar'd State as an accomplished retail leader with significant experience in developing and executing planning and allocation strategies across a diverse group of retailers. His knowledge of these critical functions will support Altar'd State in achieving its long-term objectives of providing its guests with an exceptional experience, while ensuring that the company offers the right merchandise in the right locations at the right time.
With nearly thirty years of experience, Walker provides a unique depth of knowledge and leadership in the areas of inventory management, merchandise planning, and replenishment strategies in close partnership with the Buying team. For the past eleven years, Kelly served as Executive Director of Planning, Allocation, and Tactics at Urban Outfitters and supported the company during their rapid growth expansion. Previously, he worked at Limited Stores, where he served as Director of Planning and Senior Buyer, Women's Knit Tops and he spent time at Macy's and Lord & Taylor earlier in his career. Kelly earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
