'Alright With Music' Fundraiser Honoring American Idol Winner, Kris Allen Exceeds First Week Goal - $14,000 Raised for Music Empowers Foundation
LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Dec. 13, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The "Alright with Music" fundraiser honoring Kris Allen and benefiting Music Empowers Foundation exceeded its week one goals, organizers of the fan-driven effort announced today. "In just one week we raised $14,000 for Music Empowers," explained Kathy Tibaldi, one of the organizers of "Alright with Music." "That is over 50% of our current target goal for the entire fundraiser." The goal of "Alright with Music" is to raise at least $25,000 by December 31st for the Music Empowers Foundation. Music Empowers has partnered with Kris Allen on several initiatives and provides funding to non-profit organizations that offer innovative music education programs to children in underserved communities.
Organizers credit the early success to Kris Allen fans who have been inspired by his passion for music education and to Kris's direct support. The platinum-selling recording artist gave call-outs to the Fundraiser during recent radio interviews and on Friday, December 10, tweeted his personal support. Mr. Allen also recorded a short video announcement supporting Alright with Music and asking his fans to contribute. Fans can watch the announcement on the Music Empowers Foundation fundraising page at www.musicempowersfoundation.org/alright-with-music.html.
"I continue to be amazed at the generosity of Kris's fans," said Andy Davis, founder of Music Empowers Foundation. "Due to Kris and his fans so many more children will benefit from learning and performing music."
"Alright with Music" gives Kris Allen fans and others plenty of extra incentives to donate. Amongst other things, Kris Allen autographed Stratocaster guitars will go to three lucky donors. All donors who give at least $25 before December 31st will have a chance to win one Stratocaster. A second guitar will go to the person who gives the largest donation between December 8th and midnight, December 15th.
