Alpine Bank selected Diebold's MobiTransact not only to remain competitive with larger financial institutions, but because of its flexibility and array of offerings, including bill payment applications. Additionally, MobiTransact provides both text and browser support to a variety of mobile devices, rivaling Alpine's competitors whose offerings are Web-only versions of mobile banking, which require an online account. With MobiTransact, Alpine Bank can provide its customers immediate access to their accounts, anywhere at any time, without requiring an online banking account.
"Diebold's MobiTransact promises to go far beyond the basic account balance inquiries, transfers and text alerts commonly found in today's solutions," said Kjerstin Hill, assistant vice president, Internet Services, Alpine Bank. "In our extremely competitive environment, customer retention and acquisition is a top priority. MobiTransact will serve as a direct pathway for us to build stronger relationships by enabling us to initiate conversations with our customers about timely, relevant situations through their most trusted and omnipresent device – their cell phone."
Consumer demand for mobile banking continues to grow exponentially in the United States – from 10 million active users in 2009 to a projected 53 million in 2013, according to TowerGroup. And, with a steadily growing Generation Y contingency, Alpine Bank sought to deploy a mobile solution that could evolve as the institution grows and its customers' needs change over time.
Moreover, to help market its new mobile offering, as well as other services, Alpine Bank plans to leverage its existing automated teller machine (ATM) technology with Diebold's latest version of one-to-one direct marketing at the ATM. Campaign Office® enables targeted marketing campaigns, helping institutions capture customer banking preferences and integrate the data with back-end customer relationship management systems. The software can assist the institution in signing up new and existing customers for its mobile solution, while delivering the functionality that makes self-service transactions more convenient and personalized.
"Never have financial institutions had a better opportunity to relate so intimately, and relevantly, with their customers, which offers significant long-term benefits," said Charles E. Ducey, Jr., executive vice president, North America operations, Diebold. "In addition, the role mobile banking plays in helping financial institutions integrate delivery channels is critical. It's that level of integration that captures – and keeps – their customers' attention."
Having worked closely with Diebold for more than five years, Alpine Bank already relies on Diebold's comprehensive security solutions, including digital and physical security, backed by remote monitoring. The institution also is currently upgrading its network of 60 Opteva® ATMs by installing Agilis® 2.4 software across its fleet and deploying deposit automation, which enables envelope-free deposits at any time of day or night.
