ALON Launches Reduced Emissions Fuel Program in Midland and Odessa, TX
GreenPrint and ALON Brands Expand STRIVE™- Reduced Emissions Fuel Program to Midland and Odessa, Texas
ODESSA, Texas and MIDLAND, Texas, July 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- In partnership with The Arbor Day Foundation, ALON Brands with GreenPrint LLC, creator of the first reduced emissions fuel programs, are launching the Strive – Reduced Emissions Fuel Program at all of its 7-Eleven stores in Midland and Odessa starting July 15th. The first of its kind sustainability program is now available at more than 100 ALON 7-Eleven gas locations in Texas and New Mexico, and has quadrupled its footprint since the program initially launched in June of last year.
The Strive – Reduced Emissions Fuel Program allows drivers to support their community and environment while reducing their tailpipe emissions just by filling up at an ALON 7-Eleven location. Now, for every gallon of fuel purchased in Midland and Odessa as well as Lubbock and Albuquerque, ALON will plant trees locally and invest in certified carbon reduction projects, such as reforestation and alternative energy production, to neutralize each driver's associated carbon emissions by up to 30 percent.
"We are excited to bring this program to our backyard. With how much support the Odessa and Midland communities give us, we are constantly looking for ways to improve our product and give back to them. The Strive program has already allowed us to plant over 5,000 trees in Texas and New Mexico, and we look forward to continue growing that number," said Jonathan Ketchum, senior vice president of retail at ALON Brands. "We couldn't be happier with how much support and love our customers have shown the Strive program to date."
The Strive – Reduced Emissions Fuel Program has already planted over 5,000 trees and neutralized over 25,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide and equivalent greenhouse gasses thus far. The program reduces customers' tailpipe emissions through GreenPrint's proprietary platform and investments in local, regional, and global certified carbon reduction projects and tree plantings. Unlike alternative fuels, GreenPrint's reduced emissions gasoline program requires no new software, hardware, new tanks, vehicles, or equipment. Instead, customers with traditional trucks and cars pump the same high-quality ALON fuel as always. While benefiting the environment, the program also aims to increase loyalty and encourage customers to always choose ALON 7-Eleven stations.
