Ally Financial Teams Up With Carl Black Automotive Group to Provide School Supplies to Georgia Military Families

$10,000 contribution will purchase backpacks and other essential supplies

ATLANTA, July 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- To honor the brave men and women of the U.S. armed forces, Ally Financial has teamed up with Carl Black Automotive Group to provide $10,000 worth of backpacks and school supplies to children of Georgia military personnel.

In cooperation with Operation Homefront Georgia and National Charity League Northeast Atlanta, approximately 1,000 backpacks and essential school supplies will be delivered to children of Active Duty and National Guard military personnel from the state of Georgia.

Military families will be on-hand at Carl Black Buick GMC of Roswell, Ga. on Sat., July 23 for children to pick up their fully-stocked backpacks and enjoy a variety of family entertainment activities being conducted at the dealership from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. EDT.

"Our men and women in the armed forces sacrifice so much for us each and every day," said Ally Financial executive vice president, Tim Russi. "It is a privilege and honor to provide this small token of our appreciation and contribute to such an outstanding community cause both financially and through our employee volunteer efforts."

Military vehicles will be on display and attendees can enjoy live music, games and refreshments. In addition, two steel beams from the World Trade Center will also be on display for visitors to view.
