Allstate Is Providing Free Silver Lining Companion Guides During Women's Health Week to All Impacted by Breast Cancer

NORTHBROOK, Ill., May 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- This week is National Women's Health Week and a nationwide call is underway to empower women with knowledge to take control of their health and encourage each other along the way. Continuing their commitment to the wellbeing of women, Allstate and bestselling author Hollye Jacobs are releasing a new free Spanish version of "The Silver Lining Companion Guide" in addition to a free English version available nationwide.

The companion guide is a condensed version of Jacob's New York Times bestselling book "The Silver Lining: A supportive and Insightful Guide to Breast Cancer," and includes practical tips, important information and inspiration for those undergoing breast cancer. Every year, approximately 250,000 cases of breast cancer are diagnosed.

The Spanish companion guide, "Rayo de esperanza: Manual de apoyo para enfrentar el cancer de seno," was translated from the original English language version to resonate with the Latina community. To launch the new Spanish version, Allstate and Jacobs have joined forces with host of Telemundo's "Un Nuevo Dia" and breast cancer survivor Adamari Lopez. This is the first of its kind Spanish-language resource and will debut later this week (Thursday, May 14) at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles.
