Allstate and Sterling Autobody Give the Gift of Transportation This Thanksgiving Holiday
Sterling donating recycled rides to families and charities in nine states across the country
NORTHBROOK, Ill., Nov. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Imagine walking through any kind of weather to get your child to daycare; or relying on the kindness of friends in order to get to a doctor's appointment. That's the reality for many families struggling to make ends meet and in need of reliable transportation.
During Thanksgiving week, Allstate Insurance Company and Sterling Autobody Centers will lend a helping hand to families and charities. In all, the companies plan to donate more than 20 newly refurbished automobiles through the National Auto Body Council's (NABC) Recycled Rides Program. The vehicles have been restored by technicians at Sterling shops in nine states (Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Texas and Utah) across the country. The cars are ready to be gifted to non-profit organizations, individuals and families in need of a way to get around town.
"Reliable transportation is something many of us take for granted," said Sterling Autobody Centers President Nick Notte. "We are proud to offer our time and resources to transform lives and touch families and organizations across the country. While the gift of a vehicle provides a practical means of transportation, what it really provides is hope."
Recycled Rides donation events are scheduled to happen simultaneously in multiple cities across the country on Monday, November 19, 2012.
"Allstate Insurance Company and Sterling Autobody Centers have participated in the Recycled Rides initiative for the past five years and have refurbished and gifted more than 100 vehicles across the country," said Notte.
