Posts Largest Monthly Traffic Ever for a Food Site with More Than 21.5 Million Unique Visitors in November
SEATTLE, Dec. 9, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Allrecipes.com, a Reader's Digest Association (RDA) brand, and the world's #1 food site, announced it was the most trafficked online destination for home cooks preparing Thanksgiving feasts this year. According to comScore, Allrecipes posted the largest monthly traffic ever for a food site, with more than 21.5 million unique visitors consuming 277 million pages of food-focused recipes, reviews, articles and videos. Allrecipes monthly unique visitors for November 2010 represent 88 percent growth compared to November 2009, and November marks the twenty-first consecutive month of Allrecipes claiming the position of the #1 food site (comScore).
While traffic was strong all month, Allrecipes’ traffic ballooned to peak levels the week of Thanksgiving with 22 million visits; home cooks visited 120 million recipepages as they prepared for the biggest food holiday of the year. On Wednesday, Nov. 24, Allrecipes broke its one day traffic record with more than 4 million home cooks visiting the site, 19 percent more traffic than the closest competitor site (Hitwise).

More than 66 million pages were viewed from a mobile device or app including Allrecipes.com Dinner Spinner iPhone apps and Allrecipes.com Your Kitchen Inspiration iPad app during month of November. Allrecipes iPhone and iPad apps surpassed 5 million downloads in the month of November and continue to see steady growth.
Two of the top 10 Most Popular Thanksgiving Recipes on Allrecipes.com this year were branded recipes integrated into the site allowing home cooks to discover them alongside user generated content. The top 10 recipes include:
