AlloSource Announces Reimbursement Coverage For AlloSkin

CENTENNIAL, Colo., April 9, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- AlloSource®, one of the nation's largest providers of cartilage, cellular, bone, skin and soft-tissue allografts for use in surgical procedures and wound care to advance patient healing, today announced that it received Outpatient Medicare reimbursement coverage through the Novitas Medicare Administrative Contract for AlloSkin™ products, meshed human allograft skin for acute and chronic wound therapy, in 12 states.

The coverage includes Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. Reimbursement coverage means more clinicians and patients will have access to AlloSkin, an allograft used to protect wounds and provide biologic factors native to human skin, which may help to stimulate the wound healing process. Appropriate for wounds of any etiology, AlloSkin is pliable, stretchable and easy to handle and has a five-year storage life.
