Allied World U.S. Appoints Susan Chmieleski President, Professional Lines
ZUG, Switzerland, March 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Allied World Assurance Company Holdings, AG (NYSE: AWH) announced today that Susan Chmieleski has been appointed President, Professional Lines for Allied World U.S. In this role she will be responsible for the production and profitability of all departments underwriting directors & officers liability, errors & omissions liability and medical malpractice liability. Ms. Chmieleski replaces John McElroy who was recently named Chief Operating Officer for Allied World Assurance Company Holdings, AG. Mr. McElroy had been President, Professional Lines for Allied World U.S. since 2008.

Ms. Chmieleski received her Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Hartford and she earned her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where she was editor-in-chief of the Connecticut Insurance Law Journal. She holds Connecticut Law and Nursing Licenses and is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Society for Risk Management and was a member of the Board of Directors. She is a faculty member at PLUS University and a current member of the PLUS Board.
