Allied Aviation and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers reach a new collective agreement
Minister Leitch congratulates both parties
OTTAWA, April 13, 2015 /CNW/ - Today, the Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, congratulated Allied Aviation Service Company of Newfoundland, ULC, and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Transportation District 140 on the renewal of their collective agreement.
The agreement was reached with assistance from the Labour Program's Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service provides dispute resolution and dispute prevention assistance to trade unions and employers under the jurisdiction of the Canada Labour Code.

- Allied Aviation Service Company of Newfoundland, ULC, is a provider of aircraft maintenance services in Newfoundland and Labrador. The company provides the following services at the Gander International Airport: aircraft de-icing, equipment maintenance, passenger services, aircraft cleaning services, ground services and construction project management.
- The collective agreement covering all ground service personnel employed at the Gander International Airport expired on October 31, 2014.
