SYDNEY, June 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Allianz is pleased to be nominated as a finalist for Large General Insurance Company of the Year and Women's Council Employer of the Year at the Australian Insurance Industry Awards.
The awards are hosted by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and Asia Insurance Review.
Commenting on Allianz's nominations, Managing Director, Niran Peiris, said, "As the 2012 winner of the Large General Insurance Company of the Year Award, we are pleased to be nominated for the Large General Insurance Company of the Year in 2013 and the Women's Council Employer of the Year 2013."
Both Awards are judged on a comprehensive range of criteria. Addressing the criteria in its submissions, Allianz highlighted:
Customer Focus - In 2012, Allianz continued on the journey to improve its claims service with the implementation of new initiatives including the introduction of the 'Be Ok' (Broker Engagement Opportunity Knocks) program, which aims to deepen relationships with broker partners and improved current technologies in order to reduce the time required to lodge a home or motor claim.
Strong growth - Allianz delivered strong performance and growth in all distribution channels and major product lines, achieving an overall organic premium growth of 10.7% while maintaining a strong underwriting profit.
Innovation - Through its innovation program -- Innov8, Allianz employees generated 1129 ideas aimed at improving our service, 33% of ideas submitted have been implemented.
Leadership - Allianz has taken a leadership position in the rapidly evolving legislative and regulatory environment. Key areas include the reform of the Fire Services Levy in VIC, developing industry positions on consumer Key Facts Sheets, Unfair Contract Terms and Code of Practice changes, and making submissions to government on numerous regulatory proposals
Women at Allianz - In 2012, Allianz implemented several initiatives that have continued to strengthen the participation rates of women in management positions and increased retention. Following parental leave and phased retirement options, Allianz has removed barriers for women in the workforce.
