HOUSTON, Oct. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- alliantgroup Director of Talent Kim Tardy was named one of the winners of Burnett Specialists' "Best Boss in Town" award for the city of Houston. The award is built around National Bosses Day on October 16, with Burnett Specialists naming multiple award winners in Houston and in other major cities across Texas.
Tardy was selected for the honor after she was nominated by multiple alliantgroup employees. A panel of Burnett Specialists is tasked with reviewing all nominations and Tardy was selected as a winner based off the strength of the submitted nominations from her colleagues.
"This award means so much to me," said Tardy. "To be nominated for the award by my colleagues truly makes this extra special. However, this award represents the great work of all of our leaders. It is the strongest reaffirmation of the great things that all of our leaders at alliantgroup do every day to make it such a great place to work! Every step we have taken has been for the purpose of continued employee growth and our firm will always remain invested in the professional development of our people."
Since joining the firm in 2014, Tardy and alliantgroup's Talent Department have built out numerous professional development and training programs, implemented career progressions and development plans for every department, created a new onboarding program, enhanced the firm's generous benefits package and helped grow the firm to more than 700 employees.
In addition to career development and organizational growth, Tardy's department has taken steps to foster a dynamic and engaging office culture. She has implemented spirit days, played a key role in helping to implement the firm's philanthropic initiatives, and was a leader during the firm's relief and recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. In part due to her efforts, alliantgroup has received several workplace culture awards in the media. alliantgroup has been named a Best Place to Work by the Houston Business Journal and was listed as one of the Houston Chronicle's Top Workplaces in 2016 and 2015. Earlier this year, the firm won Entrepreneur's Top Company Cultures award in the large companies category and received the Connectiv Workplace Innovation Award for Revitalizing Workplace Culture.
"In her three years at alliantgroup, the list of things Kim has been able to accomplish for our firm and our professionals is nothing short of amazing," said Dhaval Jadav, alliantgroup CEO. "We are truly blessed to have her on board. Kim is not only an outstanding professional, she is a true leader.
