HOUSTON, Oct. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- alliantgroup will be participating in the "Strut Your Mutt" charity event on Saturday, October 14 at Stude Park in Houston, Texas. The annual fundraising event is held by the Best Friends Animal Society and brings communities together to raise money toward saving the lives of homeless pets. Those participating in the event can choose to support or raise funds for Best Friends or their local participating animal society.
As a result of Hurricane Harvey, thousands of animals were recently displaced within the Houston community. However, in the weeks since the storm hit, Best Friends has helped over 1,600 animals in the Houston area and has volunteered more than 10,500 hours caring for pets impacted by the storm. Many of the proceeds for this year's event will be donated to Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts, including helping reunite pets with families, helping animals turned into shelters find homes and helping Houston area shelters rebuild and recover.
alliantgroup has already contributed to Best Friends and will be in attendance to raise money for animal relief efforts. Company employees are attending as part of the firm's health and wellness initiative and will participate in fund raising events such as the charity walk and activities such as doggie yoga, pet portraits, music, contests and more.
"I encourage all of our employees to come out for this fun-filled event," said Dhaval Jadav, alliantgroup CEO. "It's a great opportunity to spend time with their families, get some exercise and donate their time to a good cause."
