alliantgroup Hosts Field Trip for Cook Elementary to Houston Museum of Natural Science
HOUSTON, Dec. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its youth and community investment initiative, alliantgroup volunteers took more than 70 underserved students from Cook Elementary on a field trip last week to the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
During the field trip, students were guided by alliantgroup volunteers to explore the museum's Cockrell Butterfly Center, Brown Hall of Entomology and the Morian Hall of Paleontology. The students were also treated to lunch and were sent home with backpacks filled with books on dinosaurs, butterflies and bugs, as well as dinosaur fossil excavation science kits. The field trip was just the latest excursion in a growing list of community outreach initiatives sponsored by the Blue Heart Fund, alliantgroup's nonprofit charity designed to expose students to STEM education at an early age.
"Careers in STEM are some of the highest paying and most rewarding in terms of impact," said alliantgroup CEO Dhaval Jadav. "America's youth is the next chapter in our country's STEM legacy. Getting these students involved with STEM disciplines is an investment in our country's future that will strengthen our global competitiveness and overall innovation, so we need to continue this push of constant support."
