HOUSTON, Aug. 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- alliantgroup will be hosting a back to school meet and greet at Parker Elementary tomorrow from 3:30 to 6:00 PM. During the event, alliantgroup CEO Dhaval Jadav and other alliantgroup volunteers will be in attendance to help students from the local community get ready for the upcoming school year. The firm's volunteers will be on hand to distribute backpacks and other school supplies to underserved students.
"Parker Elementary is so lucky to have alliantgroup support our students by providing them with free backpacks full of school supplies for the school year," said Lori Frodine, Principal of Parker Elementary. "alliantgroup has been partnering with Parker for several years now and they have been so generous in making a huge difference for our underprivileged students. It's been a real gift!"
alliantgroup is expected to distribute over 200 backpacks full of supplies to underserved students ranging from grades Pre-K through 5th. The back to school event is just the latest in a growing list of community outreach initiatives sponsored by the Blue Heart Fund, alliantgroup's nonprofit charity. Originally founded in the wake of Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, the Blue Heart Fund has been expanded to encompass numerous charitable causes. Along with fundraising for various philanthropic endeavors, the Blue Heart Fund's primary focus has been promoting exposure to STEM education and careers in our universities, public schools and local communities. Specifically, in the past, the firm has taken steps to expose students to STEM at a younger age, going so far as to take Parker Elementary students to the Houston Museum of Natural Science. In addition to promoting STEM education in K-12 schools, the firm has also given out several STEM-based scholarships over the past year.
Within the last year, alliantgroup has been recognized for its charitable and volunteer efforts, with the firm placing in the Top 10 of the Houston Business Journal's Corporate Philanthropy Awards in the large companies' category.
"Our firm has placed a high priority on giving back to the local community and ensuring the next generation receives all the same opportunities we had," said alliantgroup CEO Dhaval Jadav. "In my view, the best way to help the children of the next generation is to ensure they receive a proper education. Events such as tomorrow's meet and greet at Parker Elementary are a small step in making this a reality."
