Alliance for Women in Media Foundation To Honor WABC's Joan Hamburg with Gracies Lifetime Achievement Award at 41st Annual Gracies Luncheon

WASHINGTON, April 8, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWMF) is pleased to announce that it will present Joan Hamburg of WABC (Cumulus Media) with the Gracies Lifetime Achievement Award at the 41st Annual Gracies Awards Luncheon. This annual event, which honors the accomplishments of women in media and entertainment at the local, public and student levels, will take place on June 21, 2016 at Cipriani on 42nd. Author and acting great, Alan Alda, will present Joan Hamburg with the award.
The Gracies recognize exemplary programming created by women, for women and about women in all facets of media. The awards program also encourages the realistic and multifaceted portrayal of women in entertainment, news, features and other programs.

Hamburg is a familiar and award-winning voice in New York radio, best known for her years spent as host of "The Joan Hamburg Show." Known as New York's "First Lady of Radio," Hamburg was inducted into the New York State Broadcasters' Hall of Fame in 2012 and was named "New Yorker of the Year" by the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce due to her dedication in improving the quality of lives for those throughout the New York metropolitan area. In addition to numerous other awards, Hamburg is an accomplished author and columnist.
