Alliance for Women in Media Foundation Announce 42nd Gracie Awards Call for Entries, Dates for Gala and Luncheon
WASHINGTON, Oct. 31, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Gracie Awards, presented by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWMF), has opened the call for entries for the 42nd Annual Gracie Awards Gala, June 6, 2017 at the Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills, A Four Seasons Hotel and Gracie Awards Luncheon, June 27, 2017 in New York City at Cipriani 42nd Street.
"The Gracie Awards recognize the best and the brightest in all aspects of the media industry, in front of and behind the camera, and have for more than 40 years," said Kristen Welch, AWMF chair. "Individuals who are pioneers in content and program creation highlighting diversity in issues and journalistic approach are given the spotlight, truly reflecting Gracie Allen, the namesake of the Gracie Awards."
2016 Gracies highlights include honoring the original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter with the Lifetime Achievement Award, Andra Day performing "Rise Up," and award winners including Mindy Kaling and the cast of The Mindy Project, Allison Janney, Aunjanue Ellis, Jenna Weiss-Berman, Beverly Bond, Kathie Lee Gifford and Yara Shahidi. Vicangelo Bulluck, a seasoned veteran in awards production as well as the Executive Producer of the 2016 Democratic National Convention, produced the 2016 Gracie Awards and will return to produce the Gracie Awards Gala in 2017.
The 2017 Gracie entry eligibility period has been updated to December 1, 2015 through December 31, 2016. Early Bird rates for entries end on December 8, 2016 at 11:59 PM Eastern.
