The Honeysuckle White turkey More To Share program, a charitable donation arm of Cargill, has partnered with retail grocers to donate more than 72,000 turkeys to local hunger-fighting charities across America. This gift has helped provide holiday meals to hundreds of thousands of people. Cargill is an international producer and marketer of food, agricultural, financial and industrial products and services. Founded in 1865, the privately held company employs 131,000 people in 66 countries. Giant Eagle is the local vendor partner.
The Salvation Army will be serving ten holiday dinners in Allegheny County. Seven are open to the public and three are private and are being provided to the residents of the Family Caring Center, Harbor Light Center and Adult Rehabilitation Center. Those interested in volunteering or attending should first call the below location of choice.
