DENVER, June 17, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- All Clear Foundation, a 501c3 organization dedicated to improving the life expectancy and wellbeing of First Responders, today announced it has expanded its First Responder resource programs thanks to nearly $300,000 in donations from corporate sponsor, Founder Sport Group, the maker of performance athletic apparel. The company raised the funds by pivoting to create performance activity face masks and donating all net proceeds to All Clear Foundation.
As a result, All Clear Foundation is now offering its peer-to-peer chat app subscription-free to First Responders and in recognition that the current global health pandemic is adding even more stress to response work. The subscription and customarily fee-based app, ResponderRel8, is a platform for First Responders to anonymously connect with their peers. Research has shown that social connection improves both mental and physical wellness; the app enables responders to connect and give or get support without fear or stigma getting in the way.
The donation has also helped fund additional support services for First Responders such as the promotion of a new self-directed health and wellness tool – YOU: ResponderStrong – that enables responders to complete personal assessments and immediately access resources to cope with challenges or find opportunities to grow personally and professionally.
All Clear Foundation has seen an uptick in activity since the onset of COVID-19, as shown by increased usage of its peer-to-peer support app and resource library.
"Even before the pandemic, First Responders faced daunting challenges due to their professions," said Janell Farr, All Clear Foundation president. "Research suggests about 20 percent of all First Responders experience post-traumatic stress as a result of repeatedly responding to traumatic events. COVID-19 is adding unprecedented stressors, including separation from family, and Founder Sport Group's generosity has enabled us to increase our support so responders can stay connected and access critical information and resources."
All Clear Foundation is grateful for Founder Sport Group's contributions, especially since the company faced its own hardships resulting from the COVID-19 crisis. As an athletic apparel company servicing the team sports industry, the company's sales dropped significantly when the world of team sports shut down almost instantaneously.
"When the pandemic hit, it was a call to action for us. As a maker of athletic apparel, we knew we were perfectly equipped to make face masks and we wanted to do our part to help with the cause," said John Anton, Founder Sport Group CEO. "We immediately pivoted from manufacturing performance athletic apparel to producing performance activity masks that could serve as an added layer of protection for consumers. We are thrilled with the response so far and will continue to support First Responders."
The performance activity masks feature a performance micro-polyester spandex fabric blend for a snug fit around the nose and mouth, complying with the Center for Disease Control recommendations for cloth face coverings in public settings. More so, schools across the nation that have relied on the Founder brand for athletic uniforms can now rely on Founder for face masks as states set COVID-19 requirements for schools.
All Clear Foundation: All Clear Foundation is a nonpartisan, nonprofit 501(C)3 supporting First Responders by creating, convening, amplifying and funding innovative programs to improve their life expectancy and wellbeing.
Founder Sport Group: Founder Sport Group features category-leading stock and customizable sportswear brands that include Badger Sport, Alleson Athletic, Garb Athletics, and ProSphere. From the field to the stands, and at every practice along the way, Founder Sport Group makes quality apparel accessible to all at the speed of sport.
