Alison Cox Joins MWW As Vice President, Enterprise Technology
Dallas-Based Cox Brings B2B, Enterprise and Corporate Communications Experience to MWW's Technology Industry Practice
DALLAS, Oct. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- MWW (www.mww.com), one of the top five independent public relations firms, announced today that Alison Cox has joined the firm's technology industry practice as vice president, enterprise and technology. Cox, who will be based in the firm's Dallas office, brings deep experience in B2B marketing, enterprise technology, corporate communications and consumer education. As part of her role within the enterprise technology group, Cox will craft and execute integrated communications programs designed to drive demand in key enterprise markets.
"Alison's inter-disciplinary mindset, deep enterprise expertise and breadth of technology experience will be a huge asset to our strong roster of enterprise technology clients," said Ephraim Cohen, MWW's executive vice president of media innovation and chair of the technology and digital content practice. "Her ability to translate complex messaging into relevant and compelling brand narratives that appeal to the technical and non-technical professional will be key to helping our clients drive demand in the enterprise markets."
Cox comes to MWW from Oncor, one of the largest electric transmission and distribution utilities in the country, where she oversaw customer education programs to complement the rollout of 3.2 million smart meters across the service territory and address erroneous health concerns with consumers and legislators. In addition to serving as the media spokesperson, she launched Oncor's award-winning blog, giving voice to employees who typically see little customer interaction.
Previously, Cox worked at global communications firms Edelman and Ketchum, supporting both B2B and B2C clients. Cox's industries of focus included telecom (Blackberry, Nokia, Cingular Wireless, MetroPCS), energy (Reliant Energy, Direct Energy, ExxonMobil) and big box retail (The Home Depot, Best Buy). Leveraging her understanding of both the client and agency side, she also served as the interim director of social media for BlackBerry, managing internal staff and serving as the primary liaison for the agency team charged with social media programming for consumer, carrier and developer audiences.
Cox is a graduate of Texas A&M University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Journalism with an emphasis in public relations. She is a member of the Asian American Journalists Association and past officer of the Texas Chapter.
