PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- American Law Institute Continuing Legal Education is pleased to announce the return of Environmental Law, cosponsored by the Environmental Law Institute. This year's program will be held Wednesday-Friday, February 3-5, 2016, at the Washington Plaza Hotel in Washington, D.C.
The conference will provide a thoroughly current and complete analysis of key developments and trends in the field of environmental law. Even for attorneys with specialized practices, the program will review the key issues arising in each of the major areas of environmental law so that attorneys not only can expand their understanding of the "big picture," but also can be alert to changes in the many intersecting facets of environmental law that may affect their practices.
Climate change, energy production, and water quality and resources will be among some of the trending topics covered. Additionally, this year's course will feature an examination of environmental law as the end of the Obama administration approaches, a discussion of the Clean Power Plan announced in August 2015, and a keynote address by John Cruden, Assistant Attorney General of Department of Justice's Environment and Natural Resources Division. The national faculty will include Harvard Law School's Richard Lazarus, one of the preeminent environmental law professors in the country. His review of the Supreme Court's environmental decisions in the 2015 term will be a highlight of the program.
"For this year's program, we have once again assembled a stellar faculty drawn from government, academia, non-governmental organizations, industry, and private practice," said planning chairs Pam Esterman and Dan Riesel of Sive Paget & Riesel, PC, in New York City. "With their varied perspectives and substantial experience, they will provide a highly informative and engaging program."
