This advanced course teaches not only substantive environmental law, but the skills needed to litigate an environmental case from commencement to trial. Instruction for this course is accomplished with a unique mix of presentations, panel discussions, and demonstrations by a nationally-based faculty that represents practitioners on both sides of the bar and the bench, as well as environmental experts.
This year's course will address a variety of topics including: how and when to make Daubert motions, mastering issues relating to discovery, natural resource damage litigation, and litigating during an environmental crisis. There will also be an in-depth discussion of CERCLA issues in addition to current enforcement trends.
This course will benefit environmental lawyers and other legal professionals looking to gain the knowledge and master the skills needed to succeed in environmental litigation.
"This program is a must for lawyers who litigate, or want to litigate, environmental law – whether from the perspective of government, private practice, in-house counsel or NGOs. It offers a unique blend of judges and experienced practitioners from different practice areas distilling important practice issues and strategies. The program is a remarkable learning experience for environmental litigators," said Daniel Riesel of Sive, Paget & Riesel, P.C. in New York.
Because of the small classroom setting, attendees have the opportunity to talk directly with the faculty and each other at lunch on the first day and throughout the rest of the course.
