Alecia Dantico Joins Weber Shandwick's Digital Communications Practice
CHICAGO, March 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Weber Shandwick, one of the world's leading global public relations firms, today announced the appointment of Alecia Dantico as vice president in its digital communications practice. She will begin with the firm on March 15, 2010, and will be based in Chicago.
Dantico brings more than 12 years of digital experience in both the business-to-business and business-to-consumer space. She most recently worked as director of social media for Garrett Popcorn Shops launching the global brand into the social media space. Prior to this, Dantico was an interactive portfolio manager at Sears, where she focused on executing business product development programs to extend Sears' online service and direct distribution interactive channels.
Dantico also served as a senior interactive project manager at Arc Worldwide. There, she strategized interactive and digital initiatives for her client base and led the agency's internal and client executive management digital governance board.

Dantico received a bachelor's degree in French literature from Carleton College, a master of arts in comparative literature from the University of Colorado and a master of arts in English literature with a concentration on gender and women's studies from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in communication.
