Albuquerque Entrepreneurs Selected As Top Participants in USHCC Foundation Green Builds Business Program
WASHINGTON, April 2, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation (USHCCF) announced today five local winners from the 2012 Green Builds Business (GBB) program in Albuquerque, NM. The selected entrepreneurs will receive a combined 24 hours of one-on-one green coaching with Bill Roth, Green Business Coach for Entrepreneur.com and Founder of Earth 2017.
GBB, underwritten by Walmart, is a signature training program of the USHCCF which encourages business owners from across the country to incorporate sustainability measures into their overall business plans by teaching them best practices for lowering operating costs, increasing revenues and motivating workers with green initiatives. The GBB program in Albuquerque, held in early March, was co-hosted by the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce, and hosted 20 local entrepreneurs for the two-day training session.
"The attendees were surprised about the correlation between having a 'green' business and the impact on their cash flow," says Chamber President Alex Romero. "They were pleased to learn about how implementing green strategies actually improves their bottom line. In addition," he adds, "word got out quickly amongst our members after the training sessions occurred; we continue to get calls as to when we'll be providing the training again."
USHCC President and CEO, Javier Palomarez, says that the enthusiasm of the Albuquerque participants demonstrates both the influence and impact this program can have on the Hispanic business community. "This program started as a way to help entrepreneurs lead the way in sustainable economic growth and recovery in America," he says. "It is exciting and inspiring to see our participants taking these learnings and applying them to new-age, innovative business concepts, such as green marketing and QR codes."
