The newly-formed division focuses the resources of Albemarle Corporation in this important market segment within the air pollution control industry.

Albemarle Environmental Division is focused on expanding the product and service offerings for Albemarle's environmental business through the development of multi-pollutant control technologies. William S. Pickrell has been appointed to Global Business Director, replacing Sid Nelson Jr. "This new organization is positioned to provide the products and services to meet the increasing demands of the market segments we serve. I am excited to be leading this division as we develop and bring to market innovative technologies for pollution control," said Mr. Pickrell.
Mr. Pickrell has over 28 years of experience in the specialty chemicals industry including 15 years of sales and sales management experience within the industrial water treatment industry and 10 years of business management experience for Albemarle Corporation. Prior to assuming his current role, Mr. Pickrell served as Global Business Manager, based in Tokyo, Japan, for three years with responsibility for Biocides, Food Safety and Brominated Solvents business groups for Albemarle Corporation. Mr. Pickrell earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Masters of Science in Aquatic Biology from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1979 and 1984, respectively.
Albemarle Environmental Division is a part of the company's Fine Chemistry Global Business Unit and is a full-service, solution provider to the coal-fired utility, cement kiln, and industrial boiler markets, supplying a variety of proprietary, powder activated carbon (PAC) sorbents, advanced sorbent injection systems, bromine chemicals for mercury removal, and testing and demonstration services.
