BATON ROUGE, La., Jan. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Albemarle Corporation (NYSE: ALB), a global developer, manufacturer and marketer of highly engineered specialty chemicals, announced today that David DeCuir, Business Director - Custom Services and Director of Fine Chemistry Research & Development (R&D), was elected to a two year term as Board of Governors Vice Chairman of The Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA).

He has served in his current role of Business Director - Custom Services and Director of Fine Chemistry R&D for three years.
