Alaska Airlines promotes Shane Tackett to senior vice president and names Andy Schneider new vice president of people
SEATTLE, Aug. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Alaska Airlines' board of directors have elected Shane Tackett senior vice president of revenue management and e-commerce, and Andrea "Andy" Schneider vice president of people.
Tackett will continue to oversee pricing, yield management, revenue analysis and e-commerce. He began his career with Alaska Airlines in 2000 as an analyst and has since held several positions of increasing responsibilities including vice president of revenue management and e-commerce and previously vice president of labor relations.

"His expertise and analytical acumen have made impactful and long-lasting improvements in every area of the company that he's led over the past 17 years."
Tackett studied at Pacific Lutheran University and holds an executive MBA from the University of Washington. He also sits on the board of Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington.
Schneider will help the company achieve its stated purpose of "creating an airline people love" by further developing its people and culture. She will oversee employee benefits, compensation, training and development, recruiting and employee travel for Alaska and Horizon Air.

Previously, Schneider served as vice president of inflight and call center services, leading Alaska's 4,000 flight attendants and 1,300 customer care and reservations agents. Before that, Schneider was senior vice president of people and customer services at Horizon. Prior to her time at Horizon, she led more than 3,000 employees at Alaska as staff vice president, station operations and cargo Services. Schneider began her career at Alaska in 1989 as the manager of financial accounting.
Schneider earned a bachelor of business administration degree from Gonzaga University and an executive MBA from the University of Washington. Her community involvement has included a seat on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross of King and Kitsap Counties, and advisor for the Milgard Business School at the University of Washington Tacoma.
