WASHINGTON, Oct. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) today announced a tentative agreement with Alaska Airlines management. The five year agreement, covering over 3,300 Flight Attendants, was reached with the assistance of the National Mediation Board. Next, the agreement will be presented to the Alaska Airlines Flight Attendant leadership. Once approved to go out for a vote, further details will be released and the agreement will be sent to the membership for ratification.
"The solidarity of the Alaska Airlines Flight Attendants gave us the leverage in negotiations to reach a tentative agreement on a new contract. AFA's Negotiating Committee is pleased with the results of the parties' bargaining efforts and we are looking forward to presenting this tentative deal to leadership for approval. Then it will be up to the membership to determine if the agreement adequately recognizes their contributions to record-breaking profits and top awards for Alaska Airlines," said Jeffrey Peterson, AFA president at Alaska Airlines.
Flight Attendant contract negotiations began over two years ago. Throughout negotiations, Alaska Airlines earned record-breaking profits and continued to earn top awards and accolades for customer satisfaction with the assistance of the Flight Attendants.
