Alaska Airlines Announces 2011 Permanent Fund Dividend Savings
Discounts available on air fare, Vacations packages and shipping
ANCHORAGE, Alaska, Sept. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Alaska Airlines launched its Permanent Fund Dividend sale today, featuring air fares as low as $89* for travel between Anchorage and Fairbanks and $199* between Anchorage and Seattle. The sale also features discounts on select Alaska Airlines Vacations packages and 25 percent off freight shipping within the state of Alaska.
The special rates are on routes between Alaska and the Lower 48 states, Hawaii, Canada and Mexico for travel purchased by Oct. 17, 2011.
"This sale features some very attractive fares so that residents receiving their checks next month can plan ahead to purchase discounted travel to all the destinations we fly, including Hawaii and Mexico," said Marilyn Romano, the airline's regional vice president for the state of Alaska.

The fares are one way, valid for travel through Aug. 11, 2012, and require a 14-day advance purchase, except for travel to Mexico and Hawaii, which does not require an advance purchase. Additional restrictions, taxes and fees apply*.
This year, Alaska Airlines Vacations is also offering special pricing as part of the sale. Vacation packages include air transportation, hotel accommodations, optional ground transportation and tours. Vacations must be booked by Oct. 17, 2011, and travel must be completed by Aug. 11, 2012. A 14-day advance purchase is required, except for travel to and from Hawaii and Mexico. Blackout dates for travel are: Nov. 16-30, Dec. 13, 2011, through Jan. 7, 2012, and March 6-24, 2012. Blackout dates for travel to King Salmon and Dillingham are: June 1-24, 2012, and from King Salmon and Dillingham are: July 10-30, 2012. Day of week travel restrictions apply. Travel is valid Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday only, except for travel to and from Hawaii and Mexico, which is valid Monday through Thursday.
