Alaska Air Group Names Bryan Shillito Managing Director of Safety Programs
SEATTLE, Nov. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Bryan Shillito has been named managing director of safety programs for Alaska Air Group, the parent company of Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. Shillito will lead Air Group's cross-organizational safety programs and ensure a robust Safety Management System (SMS).
"Bryan is a proven leader with a focus on continuous improvement and always making sure our safety management system places the safety of our employees and customers first," said Tom Nunn, Alaska Air Group vice president of safety. "This position will help us continue to strengthen the level and quality of safety at both Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air."
Shillito joined Alaska Airlines in 2008 as the director of the internal evaluation program (IEP) and later became Alaska's director of safety assurance. Prior to joining Alaska Airlines, Shillito worked in safety and operations management roles at various airlines, including Northwest Airlines and US Airways.
He holds a bachelor's of science degree in aerospace studies with a concentration in aviation safety program management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
