Alan Hoops Joins RainTree Oncology Board of Directors

SAN DIEGO, July 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- RT Oncology Services Corporation today announced that Alan Hoops has agreed to join its board of directors. Mr. Hoops has more than 40 years of healthcare experience and is widely recognized as an expert in managed care. He is currently the executive chairman of Health Essentials, LLC, a post‐acute and palliative care organization that provides a full range of services for frail and chronically ill patients.

Mr. Hoops has been Health Essentials' Executive Chairman since 2012. From 2006 to 2012, he served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of CareMore Health Group, CareMore Medical Enterprises, Inc. and CareMore Health Plan. During his six-year tenure at CareMore, he successfully expanded the company to serve seven markets across three states. Prior to that, he served as President and CEO of PacifiCare Health Systems, which was acquired by UnitedHealth Group in 2005. Under his direction, PacifiCare became a major commercial HMO and one of California's largest managed care insurers.

Mr. Hoops holds a Master of Science in Health Services from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California Los Angeles.
