Alan Draper, P.E., Earns Project Management Professional Certification
LONGVIEW, Texas, Jan. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Alan Draper, P.E., recently received his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI). Alan is KSA's Austin office manager and a professional engineer. He manages both the staff in the Austin office and leads dozens of projects for local municipalities and state agencies.
The PMP credential is an important certification program for project managers in a variety of industries in the U.S. and worldwide as it recognizes demonstrated competence in leading and directing project teams. There are approximately 619,000 active PMP certified individuals and 272 chartered chapters across 104 countries worldwide. The PMP exam is based on the PMP Examination Specification, which describes tasks if five performance domains, including initiating the project; planning the project; executing the project; monitoring and controlling the project; and closing the project. The PMI requires annual continuing certification requirements for PMP holders, ensuring that they stay abreast of project management philosophies and techniques.

Alan Draper, a civil engineer, has been with KSA since 1998. Alan has a bachelor of science degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He has extensive general civil engineering experience and has worked on various civil, water resources, wastewater, and transportation-related projects. Alan has completed the design and construction administration for numerous treatment plant projects. He is proficient in the use of a variety of computer programs, including computer-aided design (CAD), engineering design software, water system analysis programs, and hydrology packages. Alan also serves as KSA's program coordinator for the TDRA TxCDBG-DRS disaster recovery program, which encompasses over 70 separate projects.
