America's most preferred Malbec1, Alamos is known for its food pairing versatility and will be seen in tonight's episode, appropriately titled "Daring Parings." Contestants will be challenged to create a dish to pair with the bold Malbec – a wine with distinctive dark fruit characteristics and a unique balance of acidity and oak nuances that is grown at the base of Argentina's Andes Mountains.
"The higher elevation of our vineyards provides the ideal climate and sun exposure to yield grapes with rich, layered aromas and flavors," said Alamos Winemaker Felipe Stahlschmidt. "Our unique growing conditions produce Malbec grapes with incredible flavor that pair well with a variety of foods and enhance any meal. I can't wait to see what pairings are in store for this episode."
"We're thrilled to partner with Alamos for this episode of The Taste," said Chris Coelen, "The Taste" Executive Producer and founder of Kinetic Content. "The flavorful and food-friendly quality of Alamos Malbec really challenges the contestants to get creative."
The series, which premiered on January 22, requires the panel of mentors to judge the competitors' dishes blind with no knowledge of whose creation they're sampling, what they're eating, how it was prepared or who they could be sending home each week.
In addition to the award-winning Malbec, the Alamos portfolio of high-quality Argentine wines also includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Blend, Chardonnay, the bright, fruity white wine Torrontes, and Malbec Seleccion.
