Alagasco President and COO Dudley Reynolds to Retire
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Feb. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Alagasco announced that Dudley Reynolds will retire from his position as president and chief operating officer at the end of March. For 35 years, Reynolds has provided strategic expertise and guidance to the company building a strong financial position and reputation for Alagasco. Most recently, Reynolds helped transition the company through an acquisition by The Laclede Group, a natural gas holding company based in St. Louis, Missouri. He will remain with the company until the end of March to provide leadership to Alagasco during the integration with Laclede. Succession planning has been in place at Laclede and an announcement is expected prior to his retirement.

He began as a staff attorney in 1980 and within five years became an officer of the company as assistant secretary. In 1991, Reynolds became general counsel of Alagasco's parent company and all subsidiaries. In 2003, he was elected to his current position of president and chief operating officer.
Reynolds has been recognized for his service to numerous community and economic development groups, including the United Way of Central Alabama, Metropolitan Development Board, Operation New Birmingham, the Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce (now the Birmingham Business Alliance), the UAB Leadership Council and the Business Council of Alabama.
Reynolds is passionate about the natural gas industry and has been active in industry organizations. He has been very involved with the American Gas Association and serves on boards for the Southern Gas Association and state and federal energy bar associations. "He feels a strong sense of pride in the industry and dedication to the public service obligation that comes with being a part of it and perhaps this is his greatest legacy of all," said Sitherwood.
