Alabamians Have Access to a New Medicare Select Plan
Blue Cross Announces C Plus Plan F
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama has offered C Plus® to Medicare-eligible Alabamians since the beginning of Medicare in 1966. Beginning in June 2010, Blue Cross expanded its line of Medicare Select options with the addition of C Plus Plan F.
In addition to everything covered by original C Plus, the new Plan F covers the $137.50 per day copayments for days 21-100 in a skilled nursing facility, the $155 Part B deductible, and medically necessary emergency care while traveling outside the United States. As with all Medicare supplement plans, Plan F requires individuals to continue paying their Medicare Part B premium.
C Plus Plan F, combined with a Medicare prescription drug program such as BlueRx® (PDP) from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, helps eliminate unexpected medical bills. Plan F coverage combined with a Part D plan allows individuals with Medicare more certainty about determining medical costs when planning an annual budget.
