AL International (JCOF) Launches Southeast Asia Sales
Kickoff event in Philippines Draws 4,300 Attendees
SAN DIEGO, Dec. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Declaring that "our company has opened the door to a major expansion in Asia," Steve Wallach, CEO of AL International, Inc. (JCOF.PK) (www.alintjcof.com) launched the company's Southeast Asia sales last week in the Philippines, the company's starting point for penetrating markets in that part of the world.
At a kickoff event held on December 9, 2011, more than 4,300 people crowded the SMX Convention Center in Manila to learn about AL International and its subsidiary, DrinkACT (www.DrinkACT.com), which is leading the company's sales efforts in Asia.
AL International is a fast-growing, multi-dimensional company with two divisions: Youngevity Essential Life Sciences (www.youngevity.com), a direct sales company that offers more than 400 healthy lifestyle products sold through a network of independent sales representatives; and CLR Roasters (www.cafelarica.com), a vertically-integrated coffee company that produces and distributes coffee to commercial and retail customers and is the maker of the JavaFit™ line of healthy coffees.
"We definitely grabbed the attention of the marketplace," said Wallach after the launch event. "The Philippines is 'the tip of the spear' for us in Asia. In the months and years to come we intend to pursue the enormous growth opportunities that we see throughout the region. The tremendous enthusiasm we saw at our Philippines launch showed that we're on the right track."
AL International recently established an office and distribution center in the Philippines as well as a distribution center in Singapore, and recently introduced its Bellamora™ skin care products into the market.
Wallach said that eight countries in the region had representatives at the launch event and that AL International is already engaged in efforts to open more Asian markets. He said that an office will be opened in Thailand in the First Quarter of 2012 and that staff is already in place there. Taiwan and Indonesia are at the top of the list for the next phase of expansion as well, he added.
"The combined markets of Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines have a larger population than the United States," said Wallach. Our direct selling future will be built on a global platform. So getting off to such a good start in Asia is very encouraging to us."
Joining Wallach at the launch event in Manila were company officials David Almarinez, Southeast Asia President and a former lieutenant governor of the Philippines; Chris Nelson, Chief Financial Officer; Brent Jensen, Vice President for International Expansion; Andrew Lim, General Manager for Singapore; and Eric Caprarese, Executive Diamond Director for DrinkACT. Several dignitaries attended including a member of the Philippines House of Representatives.
"We told our shareholders that we would launch the first phase of our Asia expansion this month and we delivered on that promise," said Wallach. He said that the company's Asia growth strategy will include both organic expansion and acquisitions.
