Akron Children's Hospital Launches "60-Second Positive Parenting" Video Series
AKRON, Ohio, April 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of a growing initiative to offer parents practical strategies and perspectives on everyday parenting issues, Akron Children's Hospital of Akron, Ohio, announces the launch of its 60-Second Positive Parenting™ video series.
Hosted by child psychologist Geoffrey Putt, PsyD, director of Akron Children's Parenting and Family Support Services, the new 60-second segments premiere every Wednesday and feature topics ranging from management of your child's cell phone usage to defining the "perfect" parent. Dr. Putt also coordinates the hospital's Triple P - Positive Parenting Program®, which offers proven strategies to manage a child's behavior in caring and constructive ways.
"Being a parent is hard and there's no instruction manual, so of course, all parents have questions from time to time about how to manage different behaviors and challenges in raising children," said Dr. Putt. "These segments give quick tips on how to approach these concerns, and thoughts on how best to manage difficult situations in positive ways." Advice will cover the toddler years (biting, temper tantrums) through the special challenges of parenting teens and young adults.
Watch "60-Second Positive Parenting" segments at youtube.com/akronchildrens, or akronchildrens.org. They are also available as audio or video podcasts in iTunes.
