Akron-Canton Airport sets 20th record-breaking month and reaches best year ever
Reaches 1.69 million passengers with a month still to go
GREEN, Ohio, Dec. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Boy, do we have a lot to celebrate this holiday season! Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) busted through yet another monthly passenger record, making November 2012 the 20th consecutive record-breaking month. 159,409 Customers flew to/from the airport during the month, an 11 percent increase over last year. And better yet, November's number puts CAK's yearly Customer total at 1,688,380, exceeding our all-time yearly tally (1,664,397) set in 2011. Annual records have been achieved 12 out of the last 15 years. To celebrate, the CAK Thank You Crew will be performing "Random Acts of CAKness", delivering small tokens of our appreciation to travelers flying out of the airport today.

During November, passenger traffic was up on all airlines serving the airport. Southwest Airlines and AirTran Airways (now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Southwest Airlines) were up 11 percent compared to last year. Delta, flying to Atlanta and Detroit increased by 10 percent. US Airways, with flights to Charlotte, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. (Reagan) was up 11 percent compared to last year. Frontier Airlines flying nonstop to Denver saw passengers rise nearly 14 percent. United Express with flights to Chicago O'Hare increased by 1 percent.
