AK Steel's Coshocton Works Receives OHSAS 18001:2007 Certification
WEST CHESTER, Ohio, Nov. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- AK Steel (NYSE: AKS) said today that its Coshocton (OH) Works has received Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001:2007 certification from SRI Quality System Registrar, an internationally accredited registrar for management system standards. The certification applies to all applicable processing and administrative functions relating to safety at the plant.

According to SRI Quality System Registrar, OHSAS 18001:2007 certification recognizes companies that link business objectives with operating effectiveness. Recipients of this certification have demonstrated effective implementation of documentation and records management, top management's commitment to their employees, establishment of clear policy and practice, good planning and implementation, good resource management, efficient health and safety control, measurement, preventive action and an institutionalized process for continual improvement.
