NEW YORK, Sept. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- AJC Executive Director David Harris issued the following statement:
"We are deeply disappointed that the Senate failed today to vote on the Iran deal despite the agreement's historical and global importance. This is especially striking given the most recent Pew poll in which only 21 percent of Americans expressed approval of the deal. Forty-two senators blocked the effort to hold a vote and, in doing so, prevented members of the Senate from going on the record as they should, and as American democracy would expect. We respectfully hope they will reconsider in the coming days."
