"Once again, we are thankful for the alertness and professionalism of the New York Police Department in assuring the safety of our community, and all who live and work in New York," said AJC Executive Director David Harris. "Importantly, and not for the first time, we are also reminded of the Jewish community's need to be ever vigilant about security."
Two men, who had been monitored by law enforcement for months, were arrested last night. They reportedly had not yet selected the synagogue to attack, but had already purchased weapons.
Most recently, the New York Police Department and FBI foiled a plot to bomb two synagogues in Riverdale.
