AJC Condemns Terror Attack on West Bank Synagogue

NEW YORK, Feb. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- AJC condemned an overnight arson attack on a West Bank synagogue.

"Malicious destruction of Torah scrolls and prayer books is an outrageous assault on Jews," said AJC CEO David Harris. "That this act of pure hatred targeted a synagogue erected in memory of the three Israeli teenagers kidnapped and murdered by Palestinian terrorists in July 2014 is especially painful."

Haaretz reported that the "perpetrators of the crime organized the books in a pile inside the synagogue and set them on fire."

"We count on Israeli authorities to pursue the perpetrators and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law for this malicious and bigoted attack," Harris added.
