AJ Khubani, Founder/CEO of TeleBrands, Comments on Death of Jack LaLanne, Colleague in the World of Infomercials
"Jack was a Legend," says Khubani
FAIRFIELD, N.J., Jan. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AJ Khubani, founder/CEO of "As Seen on TV" product company, TeleBrands, released the following statement on the passing of Jack LaLanne, fitness guru and infomercial pitchman:
"Jack LaLanne was a true legend. He created a huge persona in the world of infomercials through his exercise and health equipment. He always strived to be the best he could be and to translate those attributes to those across the globe. Jack was dedicated to making us all healthier and would never stop.
I first met Jack in the early 1990's as TeleBrands released the Jack LaLanne Mini-Stepper. The product was a tremendous success and Jack a huge part of that success. As the first televised fitness guru for the entire country, Jack would walk out on the set with his wife, Elaine, and his German Sheppard, Harry, by his side. Even through his later years, he proved that he had credibility and able to connect to the public which led to the success of additional infomercial products.
I remember a piece of advice Jack gave me about exercising. He said, 'The only thing that you have to focus on is getting to the gym --- once you get there, you are certainly going to do something.'
On this sad day, the thoughts and prayers of my wife Poonam and I go out to Jack's wife and family. He was a man passionate about his family, the products he so successfully pitched, and the industry that was so dear to his heart and he will be sorely missed."
