aisle411 Appoints Kristin McDonnell to Advisory Board
Industry Veteran's Perspective and Significant Experience Will Provide Guidance and Support to Accelerate Market Adoption of Industry-First Mobile Retail Navigation Platform
ST. LOUIS, June 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- aisle411, the premier mobile retail navigation service that helps shoppers find what they are looking for and get rewarded for it, today announced the appointment of Kristin McDonnell as a new advisory board member. In this role, McDonnell will provide strategic guidance on the company's corporate vision, partnering strategy, and technology innovations.
McDonnell has been a management team member for six social media and mobile technology companies, which raised more than $100 million in venture capital and created $2 billion in exit value. She recently served as the CEO and co-founder of LimeLife, the first mobile software publisher focused on the women's market. Prior to that role, McDonnell was vice president of Marketing at HearMe/Mplayer (IPO) and Xfire (acquired by MTV), vice president of Content Programming at AT&T's ImagiNation Network (acquired by AOL), a member of Electronic Arts' Advanced Technology Group, an associate at McKinsey & Company, and a founding employee of Lante Corporation, an IT consulting firm.
"As both a seasoned executive with experience in social media and mobile technology, and a busy working mother, Kristin McDonnell is ideally situated to understand the value of aisle411's platform," said Nathan Pettyjohn, CEO, aisle411. "She understands how consumers shop, what they want from technology, the brands and retailers that successfully connect with these consumers, and the enabling technologies that can deliver the ultimate retail shopping experience. Kristin's depth of experience will add strength and vision to the board, while helping continue to build market momentum. We are excited and honored to welcome her to this role with the aisle411 team."
"In addition to being an entrepreneur, I'm a Chief Household Officer, early adopter mom, who has wanted the aisle411 app since I started using the first smartphone in 2004," said McDonnell. "As a mom of three children with a busy career, I look for apps and technologies like aisle411 to help make my life simpler. Since I adopt these technologies early, I'm able to predict the products, features, and technologies that women will want in the coming years. I look forward to contributing both my business and consumer perspective to the aisle411 team."
McDonnell has an MBA from Harvard and a BS degree in Industrial Engineering with a concentration in Computer Science from Northwestern University. She is also on the Advisory Board of Northwestern University's Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and an MBA mentor at Stanford's Graduate School of Business.
