During the fitting tests, detailed body measurements for each athlete were conducted. The fitting took into account the position of one's hip and shoulders, height and weight, as well as postural distortions. These athletes then had the option to choose from six different types of personalized airweave mattresses.
About airweave: Founded in Japan in 2007 when Motokuni Takaoka took over his uncle's fishing line company, airweave was born from a desire to do things differently. After experimenting with different applications of the resin fiber used to create fishing line, Takaoka discovered the material was perfectly suited for a better purpose – to reinvent the mattress industry and revolutionize the way we sleep. Airweave provides four benefits – Its highly resilient bedding material allows you to turn over more easily and maintain deeper sleep; excellent dispersion of body pressure prevents physical strain and minimizes peak pressure points; breathability of core material helps to dissipate heat and moisture generated by body during sleep; and mattress cover and core material are easily washable with water. Current airweave partners include Team USA, Ritz Paris, the Royal Ballet School in London, Japan Airlines, among others. Through these strategic collaborations, airweave has ensured countless consumers, including gold medalists, future prima ballerinas and hospitality guests, receive the best rest possible. airweave is optimizing sleep and powering performance because Tomorrow Starts Tonight.
