NEW YORK, June 25, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- airweave, the top-selling brand of premium mattresses, toppers, and pillows from Japan, will announce additions to their mattress line as well as new technological solution for a more personalized sleep experience. airweave will introduce the New airweave Mattress Advanced, a modular mattress with multiple firmness configurations, and airweave MattressFit, a web-based body scanning technology developed to provide customers with the best mattress configuration for optimal sleep posture.
airweave spent over ten years analyzing sleep data and advancing its engineering technique to develop the New airweave Mattress Advanced. Each of the three airfiber® blocks that make up the core of the mattress is created with a different firmness on each side. The variation allows for different combinations to suit an individual's shoulders, waist, and legs by swapping the order and flipping the sides of each block. "The three-piece customization design allows every individual with different body types to create their optimal sleep for the first time," said Motokuni Takaoka, the Founder & CEO of airweave.
As an industry-first, airweave will also introduce airweave MattressFit, a web-based application for body measurement analysis and data interpretation, to recommend one of five key mattress configurations for proper spine alignment to any body type. With just two photos using your smartphone camera, the tool will measure the full shape of your body and instantly analyze and present the mattress configuration.
Both the New airweave Mattress Advanced and airweave MattressFit are results of years of sleep research and body measurement data gathered from Olympians1 and other top athletes worldwide. "Spine alignment has been a key factor in providing an ideal sleep posture which reduces back pain and allows for easier turnover during sleep," said Dr. Chie Kubota, airweave's internal sleep expert. "So to provide all body types with the proper spine alignment and deeper sleep, we came up with this customizable mattress design."
A new era of mattress customization based on body type
Since its founding in 2004, airweave has set a mission to "provide quality sleep for all," developing new innovative bedding items through various sleep studies to revolutionize the way we sleep. The New airweave Mattress Advanced applies these results to allow customization for every individual body shape. Each airfiber® block is constructed with different firmness levels on both sides, 1: Soft, 2: Moderate, and 3: Firm. The airweave MattressFit web-based application will then analyze and match each body type to a mattress configuration that will provide proper spine alignment.
About airweave
airweave was born from a desire to do things differently when, Founder & CEO, Motokuni Takaoka took over his uncle's fishing line company. A graduate of the Stanford School of Engineering, Takaoka experimented with different applications of the resin fiber used to create fishing line and discovered that the material was perfectly suited for a newer and better purpose: to revolutionize the way we sleep. Since the first mattress topper shipped in 2007, airweave has expanded to a range of lifestyle, travel, and technology sleep products in Japan, and has been adopted by elite athletes and organizations worldwide to help them perform at the highest level.
