ATLANTA, Sept. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Today at AirWatch Connect™, AirWatch® by VMware, the leading enterprise mobility management (EMM) provider, announced it will launch the next generation of AirWatch Inbox™, part of the AirWatch Mobile Email Management suite. Enhancements to AirWatch Inbox will extend enterprise-grade security capabilities and a more intuitive user experience to business-critical applications such as email, calendar and contacts. AirWatch Inbox will also be optimized for iPad, providing an even more consistent user experience and security framework across mobile operating systems and device types.
AirWatch Inbox enhancements for iOS and Android include selective S/MIME, which provides an additional layer of security for email message delivery. S/MIME can be managed by end users on a per-message basis or by IT administrators with flexible deployment options for certificates from the AirWatch console. Additionally, AirWatch Inbox 2.0 for iOS features an optimized user experience for iPad and enhancements such as one-click meeting dial-in, which automatically inputs the conference number and access code from the calendar application.
AirWatch Inbox, an enterprise-grade containerized email solution with an intuitive user interface, enables employee productivity and meets stringent security, data loss prevention and stability requirements. Ideal for highly regulated deployments and bring your own device (BYOD) scenarios, AirWatch Inbox can be deployed as a managed application or within the dual persona AirWatch Workspace™ containerized solution. In addition to easy access to email, calendar and contacts, AirWatch Inbox will offer additional layers of security to organizations through seamless integration with other solutions in the AirWatch platform, including AirWatch Secure Content Locker® and AirWatch Browser™.
"Email continues to be among the most consistently used applications on smart devices, particularly for corporate use cases, and AirWatch Inbox will provide our customers with advanced security and containerization for this business-critical application," said John Marshall, senior vice president and general manager, AirWatch by VMware. "The next generation of AirWatch Inbox will provide our security-conscious customers with greater peace of mind, and also gives end users a more intuitive experience on their device of choice."
AirWatch Inbox 2.0 for Android is available today and 2.0 for iOS will be available later in September. AirWatch Inbox 2.0 for Windows is expected later this year.
