ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), today reported traffic for the month of January. The airline reported that revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and load factor represent new records for the month of January.
For the month, traffic grew by 0.6 percent to more than 1.3 billion RPMs. The airline's load factor in January was 74.8 percent, a 2.8 percent increase over the same period last year.
Available seat miles for the month were down 3.2 percent due to historic winter storms affecting a majority of the airline's national network.
