AirTran Airways Launches 'Holiday Travel' Sale!

DALLAS, Oct. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AirTran Airways, a wholly owned subsidiary of Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE: LUV), launched a fare sale today for travel to select domestic destinations. Sale fares are available for purchase today through Oct. 10, 2011, 11:59 p.m. PDT, for travel beginning Dec. 13, 2011, through Jan. 5, 2012 (blackout dates apply), with a required 10-day advance purchase.

Travelers may purchase these sale fares at www.airtran.com, from their local travel agent, or via AirTran Airways' reservations system at 1-800-AIR-TRAN. For reservations in Spanish, call 1-877-581-9842.

Examples of these one-way, low fares include (see Fare Rules below):

• $49 one-way between Baltimore and Boston
• $69 one-way between White Plains, NY and Orlando
• $94 one-way between Denver and Milwaukee
• $99 one-way between Atlanta and White Plains, NY

Fare Rules    

All fares are one-way. Fares shown do not include Airport Passenger Facility Charges of up to $18 roundtrip. The September 11th security fee of up to $10 roundtrip is not included. Fares do not include segment taxes of $3.70 per segment. A segment is defined as a takeoff and a landing. All fares are nonrefundable and a $75 fee per person applies to any change made after purchase, plus any applicable increase in airfare. Seats are limited, subject to availability, and may not be available on all flights. 10-day advance purchase required. Fares available for purchase Oct. 7 through Oct. 10, 2011, 11:59 p.m. PDT, for travel beginning Dec. 13, 2011, through Jan. 5, 2012. Fares not available for International travel and travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Blackout dates include: Dec. 23, Dec. 26, and Dec. 30, 2011 and Jan. 2, 2012. A first bag may be checked for a fee of $20 each way and a second bag may be checked for a fee of $25 each way.
